D-Day is the day when hundreds of thousands of allied troops invaded the Europe in Normandy to repel the Nazi German troops. Thousands of soldiers from both sides and civilians were killed on June 6, 1944. To remember those who were killed, Jamie Wardley and Andy Moss, two artists from the UK produced The Fallen 9000 project. They used the services of volunteers to paint shadows of 9000 individuals who died on this historic day. They hope their art will be able to show the true scale of the sacrifice of war violence on the day.
