A professional photographer who visited a lake in Tanzania was shocked to discover various types of animals becomes hard like they were turned to stone .
Nick Brand during a visit to Lake Natron discovers that the animal is transformed into stiff as stone is because their bodies are to be covered by high alkalinity that comes from the water of the lake.
The lake water actually contains volcanic ash called Natron . Natron was used by the Egyptians to preserve the remains of the rulers of ancient Egypt Pharaoh .
Alkaline level in the lake is in the pH range between 9 to 10.5 , and temperatures can sometimes reach 60 degrees Celsius . No animals will be safe when they falls on the lake and the animals usually die.
Once a bird or bat or other types of animals fell into the water of Lake Natron , minerals in the water will start to change their flesh to stone. Their bodies will then be stiff right at the last moment of their deaths .
Judging from the state of the animal in the picture , it looks like a haunted lake, but haunted by animal ghosts as a result of the incident.
